U.S. mortgage rates essentially unchanged

U.S. mortgage rates again held steady this week, according to Freddie Mac. The 30-year fixed mortgage averaged 4.44 percent for the week ending March 29, essentially unchanged from 4.45 percent the previous week. A year ago, mortgage rates stood at 4.14 percent.
