Median rents in New York City decrease for one- and two-bedroom apartments

Renters of two-bedroom apartments in 2018 finally get some relief after several months of rent hikes. Going into April, the national median two-bedroom rent is down 0.56 percent since January, to $1,247. Median one bedroom rent in New York City hovered around $2,773, a 0.25 percent drop, while median two-bedroom rents averaged $3,253 a month, a decrease of 1.08 percent. That's welcome news considering spring and summer months are peak times for movers in Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs.…
