The Bay Area is losing more people than it's attracting, as the cost of living becomes prohibitive

The high cost of living in the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward area drove more people out of the metro region than it attracted between 2016 and 2017, new Census data has found, as consumers grapple with soaring housing costs.
