Baltimore City's population declined by 5,310 between 2016 and 2017, the second-highest numeric decrease among U.S. counties. The 0.9 percent decrease brought the city's population down to 611,648 as of July 1, 2017, according to new estimates released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
